Abstract

|
Chronic myelogenous leukemia is a principal disease of adult life and occurrence in
children is very rare, which represents lese than 5% of all childhood leukemia. In
contrast to adults, childhood chronic myelogenous leukemia presents with a significant
thrombocytopenia, early hemorrhagic complication and poor prognosis. We have
experienced a case of chronic myelogenous leukemia in 14-year-old female child. She
was admitted to our hospital due to abdominal dissension and a large palpable
abdominal sass. In laboratory finding, peripheral blood chows marked leukocytosis
(123,600/㎣) with shift to the left of myeloid series. Bone marrow smear reveals
increases cellularity with myeloid increment and shift to the left. Philadelphia
chromosome was positive. Finally we reports a carte of CML with Ph'-chromosome
positive and review the literature briefly.
